10 kV switching station on КСО-Е cells: 17 turnkey cubicles for a site in Uman
A 10 kV switching station: 17 КСО-Е-393 cells, microprocessor protection relays, 630/1000 A busbars. From frame to factory testing at our own plant in Odesa, 2024.

The task
The client needed a complete 10 kV switching station, not a set of separate cubicles: the delivery had to arrive as one assembly that mates together, shares a single protection scheme and carries documentation for every cubicle.
Three requirements shaped the design:
- 17 bays — two incomers, bus sectionalising, outgoing feeders, metering. Single-side maintenance: the station sits against a wall, accessible from the front only.
- One protection logic — microprocessor protection relays across the cells, with an identical operator interface and telecontrol readiness.
- Compact cubicle width — 800 mm per bay, so that all 17 cells fit the switchroom.
The solution
We built the whole station in house: frames, busbars, switchgear, secondary circuits, marking and testing — one site, one team.
- Frame and layout. КСО-Е-393 cells for single-side maintenance, 2300×800×800 mm, 180 kg each. The 17 cells are arranged in two rows along the room.
- Main circuits. Busbars on post insulators running the length of the row, phase colour marking (yellow / green / red), class-2 bolted joints to GOST 10434-82 with anti-loosening thread protection.
- Switching. Vacuum circuit breakers; rated main-circuit current 630 and 1000 A depending on the bay.
- Protection and automation. Each cubicle front carries a microprocessor protection relay with Ukrainian control labelling — "Увімкнути / Вимкнути / Квитування", and signalling for emergency trip, overcurrent protection operation, earth-fault protection operation and device failure. A separate "ТМ: Вивід / Ввід" selector marks the cell as telecontrol-ready.
- Secondary circuits. Interposing relays, MCBs for the supply circuits, terminal rows XT1–XT5 with every conductor tagged, cubicle thermostat and heater.
- Documentation. Each of the 17 cells has its own factory passport with a serial number and a bill of components.
