10 kV switching station with telecontrol: 17 КСО cells and a link to the dispatch centre (Zaporizhzhia)
A complete switching station in one order: 17 КСО-Е cells, a telecontrol panel with a firewall and redundant power, an auxiliary board with ATS, metering cabinets. 21 units from our Odesa plant.
A 10 kV switching station in Zaporizhzhia: 17 КСО-Е cells, an auxiliary-supply board with automatic transfer, two metering cabinets and a dedicated telecontrol panel that brings the substation onto the utility's control centre. All 21 units were built at our own plant in Odesa and installed in the switching station room.
The task
The client needed more than a switching station — they needed a site the dispatcher can see: breaker status, measurements and alarms flowing into the utility's control system automatically, with nobody driving out to read them.
That changes what the delivery has to contain:
- 17 bays at 10 kV — incomers, sectionalising, feeders and metering, each with microprocessor protection.
- A link to the dispatch centre — with its own power supply that survives a loss of voltage at the substation itself.
- Auxiliary supply with redundancy — the telecontrol must not go dark together with the site.
- Revenue metering in separate cabinets.
The solution
We built the complete station in a single order — from the cells to the communications link.
1. 10 kV switchgear — 17 КСО-Е cells.
Cells of 3000×900×1000 mm: vacuum circuit breakers, microprocessor protection relays on the fronts, busbars, current and voltage transformers. Main-circuit current is 630 A on feeder bays and 1000 A on the section bays.
2. The telecontrol panel — the reason the package exists.
Its stated purpose in the passport: connecting the substation to the utility's control and automatic data processing centre. Inside it is not just a modem:
- two electronic data acquisition modules (status and measurement telemetry);
- a managed switch with 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports + 4 SFP+ ports;
- a firewall — the link to the dispatch centre is protected, not merely connected;
- an uninterruptible power supply with two batteries, plus two 24 V power supplies;
- a surge arrester on the panel incomer;
- an SNMP monitoring module for the panel itself.
In other words, the substation reaches the control system on redundant power over a protected link — and reports its own condition.
3. ЩСН auxiliary-supply board with automatic transfer — supply for control circuits, heating and lighting, switching to standby automatically.
4. Two revenue metering cabinets, ШУ-5 and ШУ-6, rated IP31.

What makes this site different
