Standard solution: protective enclosure (steel box) and foundation for a DG
Standard solution for the outdoor installation package of a standby diesel generator: steel box, monolithic reinforced-concrete foundation, exhaust gas outlet and earthing loop. DWG set on request.

A ready standard solution package for outdoor installation of a standby diesel generator (DG): protective steel enclosure (box), monolithic reinforced-concrete foundation, exhaust gas outlet assembly and earthing loop. The solution is based on a real 2021–2026 standby power project where the DG is installed in the open air and is brought into operation automatically by a mains–generator ATS panel. The DWG set is free on request via the form.
When a separate enclosure and foundation are needed for a DG
The factory weatherproof canopy protects the unit itself from precipitation, but stationary installation of a generator on a site requires three more things that are usually not included in the DG supply: a foundation that carries the weight of the unit and the dynamic loads from its operation, an organized exhaust outlet above the enclosure roof, and an earthing loop. These are exactly the elements covered by this standard solution — a steel box over the unit, a reinforced-concrete slab under it, an exhaust pipe with a roof penetration, and an earthing arrangement. The package gives the design engineer a ready basis for the civil and electrical parts of the DG site.
Package contents and technical parameters
- Steel enclosure (box) with approximate dimensions of 4500×2500×2000 mm: welded frame, removable roof, intake and exhaust ventilation louvres, views and unfolded panels in the drawings
- Monolithic reinforced-concrete foundation — slab of concrete class B25, frost resistance F150, water resistance W2
- Slab reinforcement: Ф12 rebar, grade А500С; reinforcement specification per project — approximately 280 kg
- Exhaust gas outlet: Ду76 pipe, rain cap, roof penetration via a MasterFlash roof seal
- Earthing loop for the enclosure and the DG
- The DG is installed outdoors and operates automatically; the mains–generator transfer is performed by a separate ATS panel (see the standard 0.4 kV ATS solution)
- Developed from real projects of 2021–2026; drawing language — Ukrainian
- The box dimensions, foundation class and reinforcement are given per a specific project and are adjusted to the weight and dimensions of the selected generator model
DWG set on request
We will send the full set of enclosure drawings (box views, foundation plan and sections with the reinforcement specification, exhaust outlet assembly, earthing loop) in DWG format free of charge by email. Individual sheets can be sent as PDF previews on request.
We manufacture the equipment at our own facility in Odesa; see also the equipment catalog.
FAQ
Why a separate enclosure if the generator already has a factory canopy?
The factory canopy protects the unit from the weather, but it does not replace a foundation for the generator weight, an organized exhaust outlet above the roof, or an earthing loop. This standard solution covers exactly the civil and utility part of an outdoor DG site.
Does it include selection of the diesel generator itself?
No. The box and foundation are designed for a specific DG model — its dimensions, weight and exhaust parameters are defined by the design engineer. The solution is provided as a standard basis to be adapted to the selected unit.
Does LK Energia manufacture steel enclosures for DGs?
Yes — we manufacture steel boxes, ATS panels and related switchboard equipment at our own facility in Odesa.
The full DWG set is free on request via the form below. We usually send it by email within one business day and advise design engineers on the equipment configuration: +38 067 104 94 91.
The drawings are provided as a reference standard solution. Site-specific adaptation, load and setting calculations, and compliance with the applicable codes (ПУЕ, ДСТУ, ДБН) are the responsibility of the design engineer. LK Energia accepts no liability for use of the solution without adaptation to the conditions of a specific site.
