I-710 street lighting control cabinets — a serial batch of 10 units

The task

Street lighting networks need a unit that stands outdoors all year round, receives power, meters electricity, switches lighting lines on and off by schedule and protects each line individually. Requirements:

• outdoor execution — dust and precipitation protection, operation from −40 to +40 °C;
• metering — a separate sealable compartment for the meter;
• control — automatic and manual line switching modes;
• serial production — a batch of 10 identical cabinets, each with a factory passport.

The solution

The I-710 cabinet is a two-section outdoor steel cabinet with a rain canopy, housing the complete lighting power and control circuit:

• Incomer and metering: an incoming switch-disconnector and a separate metering compartment with its own breaker — the meter is sealed, and access does not touch the power section.
• Line control: KT-6023 contactors switch lighting line groups; a control unit with mode selectors provides automatic or manual switching.
• Outgoing line protection: single-pole 63 A modular breakers per phase per line — a faulted line trips individually while the rest of the streets stay lit.
• Auxiliary circuits: separate control-circuit breakers, a service socket, cabinet lighting.
• Cable duct wiring, phase marking, earthed enclosure and doors.

Each of the 10 cabinets has its own factory passport listing the installed apparatus; a factory nameplate with the serial number and ratings is fixed on the enclosure.
