10 kV switchgear on KSO-E cubicles with vacuum circuit breakers and microprocessor protection — for a site in Chornomorsk
Six KSO-E-393V cubicles in a two-section scheme: vacuum circuit breakers, Ukrainian-made microprocessor protection, auxiliary-supply ATS. A 2024 order, built in Odesa.
Six KSO-E series 393V cubicles with vacuum circuit breakers, microprocessor protection relays and their own voltage and current transformers — a complete 10 kV switchgear line-up in a two-section scheme: two incomers, a bus-section breaker and a bus-section disconnector, outgoing feeders, and auxiliary-supply ATS. Manufactured and tested at our own factory in Odesa; a 2024 order for a site in Chornomorsk, Ukraine.
The task
Reconstruction of a 10 kV distribution point at an industrial site:
- two-section scheme — two independent incomers, sectionalizing by a breaker and a disconnector, automatic transfer;
- vacuum circuit breakers with microprocessor protection on the incomers, bus-section and outgoing feeder — modern switching and selective protection instead of obsolete oil breakers;
- auxiliary supplies — voltage transformers with metering circuits and operational circuits fed from a dedicated auxiliary transformer;
- cubicle dimensions to fit the existing switchgear room (single-side maintenance).
The solution
Six KSO-E-393V cubicles (2300 mm high — extended for the vacuum breaker and the relay compartment), configured per the design:
- Incomer-1 and Incomer-2 — cubicles with vacuum circuit breakers, bus and line disconnectors with manual drives and mechanical interlocks;
- Bus-section breaker and bus-section disconnector — section coupling with ATS;
- Outgoing feeder — vacuum breaker, current transformers, surge arresters;
- VT cubicle — voltage transformers with fuses and metering circuits; an auxiliary power transformer feeding the operational circuits.
Every switching cubicle carries a relay compartment with a Ukrainian-made microprocessor protection relay: overcurrent, instantaneous and earth-fault protection, breaker control from the front panel (buttons, mode selectors, ammeter, indicator lamps). Operational circuits are fed from power supply units in the relay compartments; phase-marked busbars; mimic diagrams and purpose labels on the doors; inspection windows for checks without opening.
Main-circuit apparatus is Ukrainian-made: vacuum breakers, disconnectors, current and voltage transformers, surge arresters.
