A 6 kV and 0.4 kV switchgear package in one delivery: КСО-Е cubicles, ЩО-90 panels and control cabinets
A complete switchgear package for one site: **КСО-Е cubicles rated 6 kV, 630 A** with mimic diagrams on the doors, **ЩО-90 panels rated 0.4 kV, 800 A**, and wall-mounted control cabinets with protection and control equipment. HV side, LV side and secondary circuits — from one factory, in one order. 2024.
The task
The customer needed a complete switchgear installation, not separate enclosures from different suppliers. The conditions were:
- Two voltage levels in one order. 6 kV on the HV side and 0.4 kV on the LV side — different construction, different maintenance rules and different crews on site, but one set of documents and one accountable manufacturer.
- 6 kV, not 10. The site network runs at 6 kV, so the cubicles were built specifically for that voltage rather than "universally".
- A readable front. The operator has to see the connection diagram without opening the cubicle or consulting the design documents.
The solution
We built the whole package in-house — from the frames to the labelling.
- HV side — КСО-Е cubicles of the 393 frame size, version 03, rated 6 kV, 630 A. Front access only: the cubicles stand against a wall and are serviced from the front.
- A mimic diagram on every door. Next to the factory rating plate is the connection diagram of that particular cubicle. Together with the functional marking ("Ввід-1", "Лінія-2", "Ввід-3") this gives the operator the full picture from the front.
- Operating mechanisms and interlocks. Manual disconnector mechanisms with colour-coded handles, mechanical interlocks and an earthing bus running along the line-up — the standard set on which the safety of switching operations depends.
- LV side — ЩО-90 panels rated 800 A, climatic version U3, IP20. Inside: moulded-case circuit breakers on the outgoing ways, phase-marked busbars and terminal rows.
- Control cabinets. The delivery also includes compact wall-mounted cabinets with control equipment and an indicating instrument on the door — the units installed alongside the main line-up on site.
- Manufacturer's marking. Every enclosure carries a metal rating plate with the type, ratings, serial number and year; the МV cubicles additionally state the cubicle's position number on the layout drawing.
