Hybrid solar power plant with BESS, 200 kW capacity

General information
Hybrid solar power plant with batteries, 200 kW
A hybrid 200 kW solar power plant with batteries for large enterprises, agricultural holdings, production sites, logistics complexes and warehouses. During the day it powers the site from the sun and the surplus charges the batteries; at night and during grid outages the critical circuits run on the batteries — for as long as the stored energy lasts. At this capacity the plant is no longer just modules and an inverter: the project includes reconstruction of the switchgear, cable routing, approvals with the distribution system operator and permit documentation. We handle these stages ourselves — the scope of work is listed below.Key advantages for large businesses
- Savings on your bill
- During the day the site runs on solar power and the surplus charges the batteries — for that share you do not buy electricity from the grid at the commercial tariff. The share depends on your load profile and is calculated from your metering data.
- Backup power
- The system switches to the batteries automatically when the power goes out and feeds the critical circuits for as long as the stored energy lasts. The list of those circuits is fixed in the design.
- Headroom for expansion
- The layout is designed so that the plant can be expanded further — from 200 kW up to the megawatt class. What exactly has to change at the connection point is evident from your single-line diagram.
- What the site needs
- Free roof or ground area, a metering point, the operator’s technical conditions for connection and the condition of the switchgear. The scope of work and equipment is calculated from your single-line diagram.
Price
The average market price range for industrial solar plants of this class in Ukraine is from UAH 15,000 to 22,000 per kW, depending on:- the choice of inverters (Deye, Huawei, Fronius, Solis, FOX, Solax, Victron, Must, SolarEdge, Growatt, Kaco, Axioma)
- the type of structure (roof/ground)
- whether the switchgear needs reconstruction
- the class of the cable infrastructure
- the complexity of approvals with the distribution system operator
Payback and economic effect
Calculated individually: payback depends on the tariff, the consumption profile and the plant configuration. We provide an indicative calculation based on your single-line diagram and metering data.Design, technical conditions and permits
- Consumption audit
- analysis of the site’s energy consumption to determine the plant capacity.
- Engineering solution
- engineering design and equipment selection based on your input data.

Questions & answers
FAQ
What is the minimum investment volume for an industrial solar power plant?
It depends on the plant's capacity and the investment format. Typically, the starting amount is from €100,000 for small projects (1 MW) and higher for large-scale plants.
What is the average return on investment for solar power plants in Ukraine?
The profitability of projects depends on construction cost, electricity tariffs and grid connection conditions, so it is calculated individually for each project. We provide indicative return figures in a financial model based on your input data.
How much time is needed to build and launch a solar power plant?
The typical project implementation timeline is 5–8 months: from site selection and obtaining permits to commissioning the plant.
What warranties apply to the equipment?
The warranty periods below are set by the equipment manufacturers according to their warranty certificates. LK Energy's warranty covers installation and commissioning works under the contract.
- Solar panels – up to 25 years of manufacturer's performance warranty.
- Inverters – 5–10 years (with the option of extension).
- Monitoring systems and storage units – typically 5–7 years.
How does the investor earn income?
Income is generated from:
- selling electricity on the market (balancing market, bilateral agreements, auctions),
- savings on own consumption (for corporate clients),
- participation in "green" generation programs in the EU (in the future – cross-border PPA).
What risks exist?
Main risks:
- regulatory changes in the electricity market,
- technical equipment failures,
- weather fluctuations (solar activity).
Is participation in the project possible without full financing?
Yes. We work with phased payment against the works schedule. If you are arranging a bank loan or leasing, we prepare the technical part of your application: a technical and commercial proposal, a generation estimate and a cost breakdown. The financing decision and its terms are made by the financial institution.
Is grant or donor support available?
Ukraine periodically has renewable energy support programmes run by international financial institutions and donors. The set of programmes and eligibility terms change, so we check what is currently available for your specific project at the time of enquiry. Support is not guaranteed and is outside our control.
Who handles the operation of the plant after launch?
Under a service agreement we cover the technical side: plant monitoring, scheduled maintenance, and repair or replacement of equipment within the scope and on the terms set out in the agreement. Legal support and accounting remain with the plant owner.
Can I invest remotely?
Yes. All legal procedures can be arranged without the investor's mandatory presence in Ukraine – through a power of attorney and electronic document management.
