KTBM for 35 kV Voltage

General information

Complete block-modular transformer substation KTBM (КТБМ) 35/0,4 kV is an outdoor substation in an insulated block-container module (or a modular building made of sandwich panels), designed to receive three-phase alternating current electrical energy at a frequency of 50 Hz and a voltage of 35 kV and convert it to a voltage of 0,4 kV. The KTBM is used for power supply to industrial, utility and agricultural facilities, as well as facilities commissioned in stages — solar and wind power plants, construction sites.

Structurally, the KTBM is assembled from unified, insulated, fully factory-ready modules: a 35 kV indoor switchgear module (vacuum circuit breaker, type — project-specific; LK Energy Group uses only vacuum switching, without gas insulation), a power transformer module, and a 0,4 kV switchgear module (RU-0,4). The modules are equipped with electric heating, lighting, ventilation and fire and security alarm systems. This layout makes it possible to eliminate intermediate 6(10) kV switchgear, shorten installation time and, if necessary, dismantle and relocate the substation to another site.

The 35 kV design was developed by LK Energy Group and confirmed by installation experience; it is manufactured to order. Electrical parameters (transformer power and quantity, rated currents and busbar cross-section, short-circuit currents and levels of electrodynamic and thermal withstand strength, composition of HV cells and RU-0,4) are determined individually for each project according to the technical assignment (TOR) and TU U 27.1-40132794-004:2017. LK Energy Group is a switchgear manufacturer based in Odesa.

Description and Purpose

KTBM 35/0.4 kV is a complete block-modular transformer substation (package substation) for the 35 kV voltage class: a power transformer up to 4000 kVA housed in factory-insulated modules (35 kV switchgear, transformer, 0.4 kV low-voltage switchgear) for receiving 35 kV and converting it to 0.4 kV. It suits small industrial, utility and agricultural consumers, solar power plants and facilities where an intermediate 10(6) kV switchgear needs to be eliminated. LK Energy Group is a switchgear equipment manufacturer from Odesa (company since 2005, own factory since 2015): the 35 kV solution is our own design, and we have installation experience; units are manufactured to order per project/technical specification. Switching is vacuum-based (SF6 gas-insulated devices are not used).

FAQ

What is a 35 kV KTBM, and does LK Energy Group manufacture it?
KTBM 35/0.4 kV is an outdoor, fully factory-assembled block-modular substation for the 35 kV voltage class that receives 35 kV and converts it to 0.4 kV. The 35 kV solution is LK Energy Group's own design, and we have installation experience; each substation is manufactured to order per the customer's project or technical specification.
What ratings and configurations are available?
All electrical parameters for the 35 kV class are selected individually to match the project/technical specification: the power and number of power transformers, the rated current of the low-voltage busbars, short-circuit currents and withstand ratings, climatic design, and the composition of the 35 kV and 0.4 kV switchgear cells. Specific ratings are agreed based on the customer's technical specification.
What switching equipment is used — SF6 gas or vacuum?
Only vacuum switching is used. We do not use SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride) gas-insulated devices. The type of vacuum circuit breaker is determined per project; the 35 kV and 0.4 kV switchgear equipment is sourced from Ukrainian or foreign manufacturers as agreed.
What is the practical benefit of the modular design?
The modules (35 kV switchgear, transformer, 0.4 kV switchgear) are assembled at the factory, which reduces the scope and duration of on-site installation. The substation is factory-ready equipment — it can be dismantled and relocated to another site. It suits solar power plants and wind farms where capacity is commissioned in stages.
How much does it cost and how do I place an order?
There is no fixed price — the cost depends on the power rating, switchgear composition and configuration, and is determined per project. Send your project or technical specification via the form on the page — we will prepare a technical proposal and commercial calculation.
