35 kV Package Transformer Substations (KTPB)

General information

Complete block-type transformer substation (KTPB) with an upper voltage of 35 kV is a fully factory-ready step-up or step-down substation for the reception, transformation and distribution of electricity at 35 / 10(6) / 0,4 kV. Typical applications are power-collection substations for solar power plants (SPP) and wind power plants (WPP), power supply to industrial facilities, and the development of distribution networks. LK Energy Group has been manufacturing switchgear at its own factory in Odesa since 2015 (company since 2005); the 35 kV equipment was developed by the company's design engineers, and installation and commissioning of substations of this class are part of our practical experience.

The 35 kV KTPB is a made-to-order solution: each station is designed, sited and equipped for the customer's specific project. At the TOR stage we lay out the high-voltage side (35 kV) and the low-voltage side (0,4 kV), determine the scheme, cell composition and equipment ratings. In its basic version, the KTPB includes power transformers (and, if required, line voltage-regulating transformers), an outdoor 35 kV switchgear, complete outdoor switchgear (KRPZ) or indoor switchgear (ZRP) at 10(6) kV, rigid and flexible busbar work, cable structures, an overall substation control point, lightning protection, grounding, lighting, foundations and fencing. Switching is performed by vacuum circuit breakers (type — project-specific); SF6 gas-insulated equipment is not used.

Climatic design — U1 / UKhL1, placement category 1 (outdoor installation). A version with noise-protection measures is available for use within city limits. Enclosures — sandwich panels or concrete shell (BKTP).

KTPB units for a voltage of 35 kV are manufactured to order in accordance with the manufacturer's technical specifications for a specific project.

Description and Purpose

The 35 kV KTPB (package transformer substation) is a 35/10(6)/0.4 kV block-type transformer substation that LK Energy Group (switchgear manufacturer, Odesa; company since 2005, own factory since 2015) designs and manufactures for a specific project. Unlike lower-voltage-class switchgear, a 35 kV KTPB is an engineering structure: its composition (35 kV outdoor switchgear (VRP), 10(6) kV switchgear/metal-enclosed switchgear (ZRP/KRPN), operator control building (OPU), foundations, lightning protection) and ratings are determined by the project and the site layout. We have our own product line developed in accordance with SOU-N EE 20.178-2008 (TU U 27.1-40132794-004:2017, technical specifications) and experience in installation and commissioning. Design, configuration and scope of supply are built to your technical specification (TZ). Switching is vacuum-based (we do not use SF6/sulfur hexafluoride equipment).

FAQ

What is a 35 kV KTPB and when is it needed?
A 35 kV KTPB is a block-type substation with a voltage of 35/10(6)/0.4 kV and a 35 kV high-voltage (HV) side. It is used where power is supplied at the 35 kV class: industrial substations, pumping stations, generation facilities. Unlike a standard off-the-shelf switchgear unit, a 35 kV KTPB is an engineering structure: it is built and installed on site under a separate project and site layout prepared by a design organization.
Is this a ready-made unit from stock, or is it manufactured to order?
It is manufactured to order. The ratings, scheme and configuration of a 35 kV KTPB are selected according to your technical specification (TZ) and site layout — there is no fixed catalog rating. LK Energy Group designs 35 kV equipment with its own design engineers, manufactures the units, and carries out installation and commissioning. Transformer capacity, rated currents and short-circuit currents are determined by the project according to your stated capacity and connection conditions.
Is a 35 kV KTPB suitable for solar and wind power plants?
Yes. A 35 kV KTPB is used as a step-up substation to collect power from solar/wind power plant inverters and deliver it to the 35 kV grid, with integration into the automated commercial electricity metering system (ASKOE) and telemechanics. The specific configuration is calculated based on the plant's capacity and connection conditions.
Which switching apparatus is used — SF6 or vacuum?
Vacuum. LK Energy Group builds switchgear on vacuum circuit breakers; we do not use SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride) equipment. The breaker type and components are agreed at the design stage according to your technical specification (TZ).
What is the service life and what are the main standards?
The service life, time between overhauls, and seismic resistance class of a 35 kV KTPB are determined by the technical specifications and data sheet for the specific unit and site layout — these are fixed at the design stage according to your technical specification (TZ). Climatic design category is U1/UKhL1, for outdoor installation.
