A 630 kVA packaged substation, turnkey: HV side on КСО cubicles, LV side on ЩО-90 panels — eight products in one order

The task

The customer is a distribution network operator — the most demanding kind of client: the substation does not go to a private site but into the public network, where it will be maintained by other people's crews under their own procedures. Hence the requirements:

• A complete node, not "the substation on its own." They needed the packaged substation, the HV switching ahead of it and the LV distribution after it — from a single manufacturer, with matched dimensions and one and the same maintenance logic.
• Outdoor installation. The enclosure had to arrive complete and operate in the open, with natural ventilation of the transformer compartment.
• Standard, recognisable solutions. For a network operator it matters that the equipment is conventional: КСО cubicles of the 393 frame size and ЩО-90 panels — what their crews see every day and know how to service.

The solution

We built the whole node in-house — from the enclosure to the last passport.

• The substation. КТПГС-630-10/0.4-к — an urban-type packaged transformer substation of 630 kVA, 10/0.4 kV, with cable entry. An outdoor enclosure with a pitched roof and ventilation louvres around the full perimeter: the transformer compartment is ventilated naturally, with no forced cooling.
• HV side — three КСО-Е cubicles of the 393 frame size, 10 kV, 630 A: two of version 03А and one of version 04А. Front-access maintenance, phase-marked busbars, fuses and switch-disconnectors in each cubicle.
• LV side — three ЩО-90 panels: one 1102 panel rated 250 A and two 1431 panels rated 1000 A. Conventional 0.4 kV distribution, familiar to any maintenance crew.
• Control cabinet ШУ-3 rated IP54, 250 A — a separate product for the node's own services, on a 400 mm plinth.
• Marking for operators. The doors carry the compartment designation and a QR code: on site the crew can see what the product is and what its ratings are without digging into a paper archive.
• Eight passports. Each of the eight products has its own factory passport with a serial number (No. 174072–174161).
