Switchboard room No. 3: three RUNN-E 0.4 kV cabinets rated 250 A for a filling-station network site
A set of three RUNN-E cabinets for a separate switchboard room at a filling-station network site: an incoming cabinet with a motor-driven two-source changeover switch, plus two cabinets with motor control gear, one of them with a soft starter. All three were built at LK Energy's own factory in Odesa in December 2023; each has its own factory passport and a nameplate with a serial number.
The task
The switchboard room serves a separate group of loads at the site, and the boards had to do three things at once:
- receive and distribute electricity at 0.4 kV — the primary purpose stated in each cabinet's passport;
- be supplied from two incomers with automatic changeover, so that losing one incomer does not stop the loads;
- control motors — with protection for each motor, thermal protection and, for the largest load, a soft start instead of a direct-on-line start.
On top of that, one common enclosure size for all three cabinets, so they line up evenly and are serviced in the same way.
The solution
Incoming cabinet ShV-250 (passport No. 173733). Two incoming circuit breakers NBS-TMD 250/3L rated 250 A with a breaking capacity of 36 kA, a motor-driven load changeover switch MLBS 250 in a "1-0-2" arrangement, and three voltage and phase-sequence monitoring relays RNPP-311M (serial numbers 0077, 0079, 0144, written into the passport). That combination is exactly what implements an automatic transfer of supply: the switch moves to the second incomer on its own, while the relays watch for the presence and quality of the voltage. Load switching is handled by two CES 300.22 contactors.
Cabinet ShS-1 (passport No. 173734). Incoming breakers NBS-TMS 160/3L rated 160 A, followed by a set of starters for different ratings: two CES 140.22 contactors (75 kW) with CES-RT4-135 thermal relays, a CES 65.22 contactor (30 kW), two CES 18.10 (7.5 kW) and two CES 6.10 (2.2 kW). Every motor is protected by its own MPE-series motor protection circuit breaker (MPE80-65, MPE25-16, MPE25-10, MPE25-1.6).
Cabinet ShS-2 (passport No. 173735). The same motor control, with one important difference: this cabinet carries a soft starter EXSSW07 0171 rated 171 A / 90 kW. A direct-on-line start of a motor that size pulls down the site's supply; the soft starter removes the inrush. The power circuit is protected by two KVL-1 switch-disconnectors rated 250 A and six M1UQU-N fuses, 250 A / 690 V, class aR, with a breaking capacity of 50 kA — fast-acting fuses that protect the semiconductors of the soft starter.
What all three share. The same enclosure ratings: 380 V / 50 Hz, 250 A, control circuits at ~220 V, ingress protection IP31, dimensions 2000 × 1000 × 600 mm, weight no more than 250 kg. Built to GOST 22789-94, climatic version U3 (from −40 to +40 °C). Each cabinet has its own passport with the order code (E-23-216/01, /02, /03) and a serial number; the warranty period is 3 years and the design service life to write-off is 25 years.
On the intended use. The passports state the purpose neutrally — "for receiving and distributing electricity". We do not disclose the site's process; that the load is motor-driven is evident from the equipment itself: motor protection breakers, contactors with thermal relays and a soft starter.
