Ten LV distribution boards in one delivery: from 100 to 1600 A

A batch of main and sub-distribution boards for a single site: **ten panels** — from a **1600 A** main incomer down to a 100 A distribution board. One structural design, one series of switchgear components, and an individual factory passport and rating plate for every panel. Ordered in 2024, shipped in January 2025.

Ten LV distribution boards in one delivery: from 100 to 1600 A

The task

The customer needed not "a switchboard" but the entire low-voltage distribution of the site as one delivery: the incomer, the distribution sections, and separate boards for process equipment and metering. Three requirements shaped the work:

  • One line-up, one envelope. The panels had to stand in the room as a single row — same 2100 mm height and the same plinth, despite different widths and different ratings.
  • A tenfold spread of rated current. One delivery contains both a 1600 A main incomer and a 100 A board. That means different busbar work, different apparatus and different weights — but one and the same operating logic.
  • Metering at every incomer. The panels were prepared for both revenue and technical metering: current transformers with the calculated ratios, space for the meter, test terminal blocks.

The solution

We built a set, not a pile of enclosures: designed it, manufactured the enclosures, installed the apparatus, labelled and issued passports for every panel at our own factory in Odesa.

  • A single structural design. All panels are 2100 mm high and 600 mm deep on a 100 mm plinth; only the width varies with the contents: 900 mm for a standard panel, 1500 and 1800 mm for sections with a double set of outgoing ways, 2400 mm for the 1600 A incomer. The exception is the wall-mounted ЩР-Т board at 1200 × 600 × 300 mm.
  • The 1600 A incomer. A 1600 A switch-disconnector, busbars sized for the full current and a dedicated compartment — panel ВРП-9, weighing 360 kg.
  • One component series across the whole delivery. Switch-disconnectors and "1-0-2" changeover switches for supply transfer, moulded-case circuit breakers on the outgoing ways, modular breakers on the small circuits, surge protective devices in every panel, and a residual current breaker where a socket circuit is present. One apparatus manufacturer across all ten panels means identical spares and identical servicing for the operator.
  • Metering. Current transformers of 400/5, 250/5 and 150/5 with accuracy class 0.5 and serial numbers recorded in the passports, a voltmeter with a phase selector in every panel, mounting space for the meter, and a test terminal block.
  • Surge protection — an ETITEC surge arrester in every panel, including the wall-mounted board.
  • Documentation. Each of the ten panels has its own passport with a factory serial number (No. 173904–173913) and the order code, plus a metal rating plate on the enclosure. The number on the plate matches the number in the passport: on site a panel can be identified without consulting a paper archive.
