Concrete package transformer substation (BKTP)
Description & purpose
BKTP is a package transformer substation in a concrete enclosure. It receives 6(10) kV medium-voltage power, steps it down to 0.4 kV and distributes it to consumers. It is installed outdoors on a prepared foundation: the reinforced-concrete enclosure serves as both the housing and the building of the substation.
Why a concrete enclosure
- higher fire resistance and mechanical strength than metal enclosures;
- resistance to vandalism and environmental impact;
- more stable thermal conditions for the equipment in summer and winter;
- long enclosure service life without painting or anti-corrosion maintenance.
Configuration
A typical BKTP consists of a medium-voltage switchgear compartment, one or two power transformers, and a low-voltage switchgear compartment. The diagram, transformer ratings, protection devices and metering are selected for your facility — from a single-line diagram or a questionnaire.
We manufacture at our own factory in Odesa, perform factory testing, and arrange delivery and supervised installation across Ukraine. Related: substation construction, what BKTP means — in the glossary.
