Complete Pole-Mounted Transformer Substations (KTPM)

General information

Complete pole-mounted transformer substations (KTPM, Ukr. КТПМ), dead-end type, for outdoor installation, with power ratings from 25 to 400 kVA at a voltage of 6 (10) kV, designed for receiving, converting, and distributing three-phase alternating current electrical energy at a frequency of 50 Hz, at a rated voltage of 6 (10) / 0,4 kV, in power supply networks with a solidly grounded or isolated neutral on the low-voltage side.

The scope of application of KTPM covers power supply systems for urban, industrial, and agricultural facilities, as well as construction sites and other low-power national-economy facilities in temperate climate regions.

To ensure safety during operation and maintenance of the substation, KTPM units are installed on a pre-prepared foundation or metal structures at a height of not less than 1600 mm above ground level, equipped with a maintenance platform (with handrails and stairs for access).

The RUNN (Ukr. РУНН) cabinet may be fitted with a disconnect switch with fuses or an automatic circuit breaker at the input, and automatic circuit breakers on the outgoing lines. Upon separate order, an electricity metering unit and a street lighting panel are installed in the RUNN cabinet.

Climatic design U1 as per GOST 15150-69.

KTPM complies with the requirements of DSTU 3399-96.

Description & purpose

KTPM is a mast-type dead-end outdoor package transformer substation rated from 25 to 400 kVA at 6(10)/0.4 kV. It supplies urban, industrial and agricultural facilities and construction sites with low power demand in temperate climate.

For safe operation and maintenance the substation is installed on a prepared foundation or steel structures at least 1600 mm above ground level, with a maintenance platform (handrails and a ladder). The RUNN cabinet may be fitted with a fuse-switch or an incoming circuit breaker and outgoing-line circuit breakers; metering and a street-lighting panel are installed on request. U1 climatic version per GOST 15150-69, compliant with DSTU 3399-96.

Manufactured by LK Energy Group (Odesa, in-house production since 2015). Send us a questionnaire — we will select the version and quote lead time and price.

FAQ

What is a KTPM and where is it used?
KTPM (Complete Pole-Mounted Transformer Substation) is equipment for receiving and distributing electricity, mounted high above ground on one or two poles. It is ideal for supplying power to farms, gardening cooperatives, small settlements, filling stations and individual industrial facilities.
What are the main advantages of a pole-mounted substation over a "kiosk-type" (ground-mounted) one?
There are three main advantages: 1. Price: This is the most affordable type of substation on the market. 2. Safety: Since all the equipment is located at height, access by unauthorized persons to live parts is minimized. 3. Space savings: There is no need to allocate a land plot or build a fence — the substation only takes up the space around the pole.
What power ratings are available for KTPM?
Pole-mounted substations are designed for small and medium loads. The standard power range is 25, 40, 63, 100, 160 and 250 kVA. If you need a higher power rating, you should consider kiosk-type substations (KTPn).
