General information

The KRU-E-2-10 (КРУ-Е-2-10) series complete switchgear is indoor metal-clad equipment (in a metal enclosure) rated 6/10 kV for the reception and distribution of three-phase alternating current electrical energy at 50 Hz. It consists of individual frame-and-panel type cabinets: steel sheet, powder coating, built-in high-voltage apparatus, measuring, signalling, relay protection and control instruments. Switching is performed by a vacuum circuit breaker (type — project-specific). SF6 gas-insulated apparatus is not used — vacuum switching only.

Climatic design U3, protection rating IP20 (indoor installation, ZRP). If outdoor placement is required, the equipment is supplied as part of an insulated block-box — a heated modular building that provides the operating conditions for the KRU: it is the block-box that takes on the external climatic protection, while the cabinets inside remain in IP20/U3 design. LK Energy Group (switchgear manufacturer, Odesa, since 2005) manufactures the cabinets and configures block-box solutions for a specific project.

The diagram, ratings, rated and through-fault currents, busbar cross-section, drive type, dimensions and circuit-breaker configuration are selected individually and recorded in the specification according to the customer's technical assignment (TOR).

Description and purpose

KRU-E-2-10 is a complete switchgear assembly (KRU) for 6 and 10 kV in an outdoor design, fitted with a vacuum circuit breaker. It is designed for receiving and distributing three-phase 50/60 Hz electric power in 6/10 kV networks. It is assembled from individual bay cubicles (incomers, outgoing feeders, bus sectionalizing, voltage transformers). Suitable for distribution points, substations and facilities with frequent switching operations. Current ratings, circuit diagrams and the specific design are selected for the individual project/technical specification. FAQ

Is this an indoor or outdoor design?

KRU-E-2-10 is indoor metal-clad equipment (in a metal enclosure), designed for installation inside a building (ZRP — enclosed switchgear room), protection rating IP20, climatic design category U3. For placement outside a building, the cubicles are supplied as part of an insulated block-box (prefabricated shelter) that provides the outdoor climatic protection.

What type of circuit breaker is used?

A vacuum circuit breaker (type and operating mechanism selected per project). LK Energy Group does not use SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride) gas-insulated equipment — only vacuum switching in all of our KRU assemblies.

What voltage is the KRU-E-2-10 rated for?

Rated voltage of 6 or 10 kV. The rated current of the main circuits, the breaking current of the circuit breaker, and the short-circuit currents (thermal and dynamic withstand) are selected and fixed in the specification for your project/TS.

Is this a ready-made product or built to order?

It is built to the project/technical specification. The cubicle is assembled according to a standard design and main-circuit diagram to match your connection: incoming, sectionalizing and outgoing feeder cubicles, voltage transformer cubicles — the configuration is determined by the project.
