Outdoor Complete Switchgear Assembly (KRUN-E)

General information

Outdoor packaged switchgear units (KRUN-E) are designed for receiving and distributing three-phase AC electric power at a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz, at a voltage of 6 or 10 kV, in networks with an isolated neutral or a neutral earthed through an arc-suppression reactor.

They are used to equip switchgear at a voltage of 6 or 10 kV of packaged (block-type) transformer substations 35/6(10), 110/6(10), 110/35/6(10) kV of power systems, industrial and agricultural enterprises, or in stand-alone KRUN-6(10) kV units.

The KRUN-6(10) kV is assembled from individual KRUN-E cabinets, each of which houses the apparatus for one connection to the switchgear busbars.

KRUN-E cabinets are fitted with a vacuum high-voltage circuit breaker (type per project). Vacuum switching does not require sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), provides a large switching endurance and minimal maintenance.

Climatic design U1 or UKhL1 per GOST 15150-69. Cabinet degree of protection — IP54 per DSTU EN 60529:2014.

The external design and configuration for block-type substations are developed and manufactured to order; short-circuit currents and main-circuit ratings are determined by the project / technical specification.

Description and purpose

KRUN-E is an outdoor complete switchgear assembly rated at 6 or 10 kV: an insulated metal enclosure with a vacuum high-voltage circuit breaker, designed to receive and distribute electricity in the open air, without a separate building. It is used as part of complete transformer substations (KTP) rated 35/6(10) kV and 110/6(10) kV, in overhead-line sectionalizing distribution points, at quarries and construction sites. The enclosure has a roof, a reinforced structure, heating, and an IP54 protection rating. LK Energy Group is a switchgear manufacturer from Odesa, in business since 2005, with its own factory since 2015: we design and manufacture KRUN-E to your technical specification. Ratings and configuration are selected to match the project.

FAQ

What is KRUN-E and where is it used?
KRUN-E is an insulated metal enclosure with vacuum high-voltage equipment rated at 6 or 10 kV, designed for outdoor operation. It is used as part of complete transformer substations (KTP) rated 35/6(10) kV and 110/6(10) kV, in distribution points for sectionalizing overhead lines, at quarries and mines to power excavators and drilling rigs, and for temporary power supply to construction sites.
Which circuit breaker is installed in KRUN-E?
KRUN-E enclosures are fitted with a vacuum high-voltage circuit breaker (type selected per project). Vacuum switching does not require sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), provides a high switching endurance, and requires minimal maintenance. The specific type and rated breaking current are selected to match your technical specification.
How does KRUN-E differ from a KSO (complete switchgear cabinet)?
KSO cabinets are designed for installation inside heated premises. KRUN-E is a fully self-contained outdoor unit: it has a roof, sealed doors, a reinforced enclosure and its own heating system, so no separate building is required.
Is KRUN-E suitable for mobile quarry networks?
Yes. For quarries we manufacture KRUN-E in a reinforced, vibration-protected enclosure and can mount it on a sled (skid base). This allows the unit to be towed by a tractor across the quarry, following the excavator, without dismantling the equipment.
What ratings of KRUN-E can be ordered?
KRUN-E is manufactured to project specifications: rated voltage of 6 or 10 kV, IP54 protection rating. Rated currents of the main circuits, short-circuit currents, dimensions and weight are determined according to your technical specification. We calculate the exact configuration and cost based on the technical specification.
